This is a reclaimed log, with handmade stainless steel branches that come out of the holes where the original branches grew from. the cracks are filled with a blue epoxy. This piece shows how industry is taking over our natural world. Phototropism is the orientation of a plant or other organism in response to light, growing towards the sun. All plants are continually trying to survive in this industrial world. This is a balance between life and death, not only for the plants but also mankind. Ryan made this piece to show that life is fragile and should be nurtured, by all that benefit from it.
